My group class didn't make (not enough people), so I'm still going to work with my trainer each week. We decided to go ahead and do the assessment stuff, too since I'm not dropping the weight as quickly as I should be given my diet and exercise.
So last week I did the little assessment thing. It was kinda cool... nice to know that I'm not as far off on things as I thought I have been.
As it is, I'm going to be doing a ~1600 calorie diet (400ish for breakfast, lunch and dinner... and about 150-180 for snacks twice a day).
My weight on her scale (as opposed to the gym's) is a bit lower, so I liked that number better. She did my measurements and all that... And an indirect calorimetry thing which told me how many calories I need to be eating to lose weight properly. I felt like a science experiment.
We went over my typical eating and working out... And my workout routine is only going to change a little... My BMI is higher than she wants, which I figured would be the case, though it's not as bas as I expected. So I have to work on getting that down. Health first, then weight.
Here's my workout routine:
Sunday - light cardio (30-45min)
Monday - cardio/strength class
Tuesday - Zumba
Wednesday - Ultimate spinning class
Thursday - torture session w/ trainer (cardio/strength) plus 30min light cardio
Friday - Zumba
Saturday - Zumba
As it is, I'm down 20lbs (according to the gym's scale--the one I use regularly). Not a big jump from my last post, but I think with the restructuring of my diet and new workout schedule, the results will pick up.
I'm definitely seeing a bigger difference in my clothes, which is nice! I'm in jeans I haven't worn in years!
So that's where I stand right now!

Slow and steady...
I'm down 16lbs from when I first started... I guess that's good. I wish I could say it's more, but it's not.
I'm not going to bootcamp anymore, but I'm working with my personal trainer again... And in 2 weeks, I'll start working with her in a group setting (read: cheaper). It also includes nutritional consultation with the group and one on one. So I think it'll be good.

bootcamp update
this session of bootcamp is kicking my ASS! the last 2 workouts have been pure hell. and it's not even hell week yet! YIKES!!
after this session, i probably won't be going back for a while. A is going to be going out of town a lot for interviews starting next month, so I'd miss way too many sessions.
so i don't go back to my old ways, i'm going to work with a personal trainer again. i'll have someone to answer to and keep me in check. i'll only be going once a week, but our gym has a lot of classes (several that my PT teaches, too). i'll still be working out at least 5 days a week, maybe more if i want to go to certain classes. we'll see what my PT wants me to do.
on one hand, i'm disappointed that i have to give up bootcamp for now... but on the other, i've kicked ass with it! it's something i didn't think i could do. and now i'm over halfway though my second session.
i may go back after the holidays, but i haven't decided yet.

My body aches
Bootcamp has been ass-kicking this week. It scares me to think about what hell week will be like this time.
My muscles are tired. They don't hurt so much as they're tired.
I've gotta say, I really enjoy these workouts. Maybe not so much DURING, but definitely after. And waking up at 5:40 in the morning sucks ass. But I really do like the workout.

FINALLY!!
HOT DAMN! I'm FINALLY seeing some results. Took way too fucking long, but I'm sooo glad it's finally happening!
I don't know exactly how many pounds I'm down.. Last I checked, it was 5, but I know I've gone down more. I officially weigh at the gym but compare it to our home scale. I know the home scale is going down and I'll weigh at the gym on Saturday.
This week is the first week of the second session. I'm not so sure I'm going to go back after this session b/c of some things that I've seen going on. If I don't, I'll go back to working with my personal trainer once a week (it's all we can afford right now).
My workout routine has definitely settled in and I do like it. I like the bootcamp workout a lot, so I'm pretty disappointed about not going back. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I go to bootcamp. Tuesday and Saturday I go to the gym and have Thursday and Sunday off. There's a new Zumba class on Saturday mornings so I'm really excited about that. It's sooo hard to get both of the kids to the gym in the evening, then get them home, fed and in bed. Plus, it's Tuesday night or Friday night, so I either have to work out the next morning or I've already worked out that day.
That's all to report from me for now!!

One session down
Finished my first session of bootcamp today. As far as weight goes... no change. As far as clothing fitting differently... no change. I've seen a difference in my endurance and strength, but that's it.
I've completely changed my diet. I've been going to bootcamp 3 days a week and to the gym another 2. I'm at a loss. But I figure at some point, something has to give, right? I signed up for another session at bootcamp and will see how it goes.
